When I was about 10 a gang of bigger yoof cornered me and demanded "Who do you support - Leeds or Chelsea?" Bearing in mind I lived in Somerset and followed cricket I took a guess at Leeds and luckily avoided a pounding :¬)

But a couple a year later I bought a Subuteo game with Leeds & Manchester teams and Peter Lorimer was always my favourite player. It seemed he could score from anywhere. In the days of the heavy leather ball my word did he make it fly.

At Christmas we needed to recreate a sporting moment for a Zoom meeting so I dug out the old Subuteo set, untouched for almost 50 years, repainted it in England vs Germany colours and did a stop-motion film of the 1966 final. Maybe one day I'll restore Peter Lorimer back to his original kit :¬)

All my Subuteo players were totally non-descript. Same brown or black hair style and same features. You must have had the de-luxe boxed set with numbers on and each individually painted to image the player.

Did you have a red-head one called Bremner?

Kev.
