Default Exotic animal slaughter.

Did anybody else watch the TV programme 'True stories' C4 10pm on Thursday evening about the MORON who released the dangerous animals from Zaneseville Zoo Ohio in October 2011 resulting in 49 of them being shot dead

18 tigers alone lost their lives because of this idiot

I appreciate that the police have a duty to protect the public but they were very trigger happy imo ,with some of them seeing it as some sort of big game shoot to be enjoyed

It's always the innocents who suffer!

to get your head round it you have to understand the american rootin tootin shootin mentality.

Any group of people who could wipeout hordes of buffulo would see some fancy pants critters as fair game .

If you grow up in a gun culture you tend to point them at anything that moves .

I certainly wouldnt like to live in a country invaded by yanks , in saying that they saved us from hitler and his ilk so not all bad news eh .

I got the impression they weren't interested in handling it with any humanity, saw it more of an opportunity to make a name for themselves

The equivalent of 1% of India's remaining wild tigers wiped out in one night!

Err not really! You must watch too much Hollywood George
The USA entered WW2 on 7th Dec 1941 after the Japs bombed Pearl Harbour.
We stood alone against the Nazi threat in 1940.
The USA saw our plight as a way to line their pockets not to save us from Hitler.
A lot of Americans embraced Nazi ideals or didn't want to get involved in Europe.
It cost us a fortune in money and intellectual rights, which by the way we only finished paying for in the early 90s.
In 1956 Nasser nationalised the Suez Canal, Britain and France who were major shareholders and had built the canal, in a plan with Israel moved in troops to secure it. Eisenhower who was US President at the time told Eden in no uncertain terms that if we didn' t remove our troops from the canal he would call in the wartime loans. Eden was forced to resign.
So much for our special relationship

Had this happened in the UK I wonder how it would have played out and how the police would have dealt with it.

Sadly wild animals do get shot through culling, poaching or through sport. It is big business in parts of Africa with hunters paying $$$$ for the pleasure and poachers killing for the hides and the horns. Also to add this, the stakes are high in some African countries where hunting is illegal and is a capital offence. I must'nt go off topic into the hunting debate. If it is true however that these sheriffs enjoyed 'the kill' it is all wrong in my book.

I did not see the documentary.

Maybe in the movies. Hitler had his air force defeated in the Battle of Britain and in addition Hitler had almost no conventional navy, which would have made his attempting to invade Britain a really bad idea - little river barges just would not have got far against the RAF and the Royal Navy.

So you could say the Yanks loaned us money to fight and helped us take the fight over the channel to defeat Hitler in Europe. From us they got radar, the atomic bomb, the jet engine, computers and numerous other inventions to help sweaten the deal.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Also we have sheltered under thier wing since then .

All about opinions mind !!!
