Default Ride height

Hi all,
I have searched the forum and found a thread that indicated the height from the top of the alloy centre cap to the bottom of the front arch should be approx 40cms.

I just measured this distance on my parents car and it is 35cm all round.

Now the fact they are all 35cms makes me wonder if they are all tired and need replacing or if somehow something else is causing this.

Tank is 1/3 full of diesel.

Any suggestions welcome.

Hi there,
So does that mean I measure from the centre of the centre cap rather than the top of it?

Yes because wheel centre caps vary in diameter. So, only its centre is a standard point and is at the same height as the hub's centre. Having said that, your ride height is rather low.

Here's another reference:

Another guide to weak suspension at front or rear is the sill line. It should stand horizonal on level ground. However, the sill height may be incorrect but MGR don't specify that.
