If you take out the black plug and it works then the fault is beyond that point. If you put the black plug back in and withdraw the white one and it works, then the fault is in the loom and / or one of the sensors.
I am going slowly round the twist with this.
Before I carried out your suggestions, I tried everything to see if anything had changed - and it had. Now when I engage reverse, I get one short bleep followed by a continuous bleep which remains on until I come out of reverse. Now no sign of CD changer, even if I disconnect the PDC wiring loom.
Strangely enough, the PDC works after a journey but then reverts to not working the next time I start the engine.
Will a fault finder thingy help with this?
Di.
