Default Brake Pipes

Is there a UK company that will make up brake pipes in either stainless, or CuNiFe all bent and to spec?

I'd rather not have wavering, meandering, copper looks like my mum has done it, amatuer night happening.

Xpart never re-manufactured of course, but I was thinking, surely there has to be a specialist in the UK that can bend and form them all up to the exact original specifications?

Try posting them Ross

Use your originals as patterns and make your own, it's a piece of cake

Pipe bender HERE

Cunifer HERE

Flaremaster HERE

Male unions HERE

As an example, here is the offside front brake pipe which took me fifteen minutes to make

Everything fits into the original clips, no wavy cable tied droopy copper pipe, and it will outlast the car.

All for about the same money you would pay someone to make and fit a set of front to rear pipes.

That is the answer to your question, whether it is the one you wanted to hear is another matter

Have fun

Brian

I’ve just searched online and there’s various companies will make a brake pipe to any length you require then all you’ll have to do is bend it into shape using the tool Brian supplied a link to. In saying that though it’s as Brian stated it doesn’t take long to make up a pipe

Default Brake Pipe manufacture?

I can definitely recommend Autoservices of Horley, Surrey.

My 75 diesel cdti facelift saloon failed it's MOT on corroded one of its front brakepipes.

The above garage had a machine onsite , enabling them to manufacture a new section of Copper brake pipe.

Checj out the link to their site , maybe call them .....

4Rgds,

John.

The OP doesn’t want copper pipes and can’t say I blame him, I’m not keen on them either

Cunnifer tubing will last a very long time, is durable and easy to form. If you have a v6 the pipe Brian showed you will be an absolute pig (ie impossible) thing to remove and refit as formed without removing the engine...
Whatever you do don't buy a Sealy flaring kit - i did and it was downright dangerous.

+1 for doing it yourself, I had to do mine last year for my MoT. I bought 2 rolls of pipe, the flaring tool which came with a small bending tool and another to cut it, a bag of unions. I'll admit they're not perfect, certainly no where near Brians standard, but they fit all the original clips, cost about £60 less than the garage quoted, and it's under the car where no one aside from me and Mot tester will ever see.

Hmm...

Thats more impressive than I had imagined Brian.

Sooner or later the brake pipes will be next on the agenda, not sure I can be bothered though.

There's a simple solution - take the car to Brian.

Strangely enough Huw, the first one of these I did was on a V6, and with the engine in place

Anyway, regardless of engine type, the final bend where the pipe passes through the inner wing grommet, must be formed on the car after the pipe is fitted
