No reversing lights.. sometimes
Here is one I have not come across before.
My ZTT 190 sometimes has no reversing lights. Only happens when it has been sitting for a few days especially at this time of year. Cold/rainy etc Drive it a few miles and they magically start working again ! reversing switch connections or switch itself ? anyone come across this before?

Had the same problem on mine, and the reverse sensors stopped working as well
If you have a lathe, carefully take 50 thou of the mounting face of the switch, so it'll tighten in slightly further. Mine's worked perfectly again ever since without the expense of a new switch

Check out Greeners guide in the How To section.
It’s an easy job but the electrical connector was a pig to work out without his photo as I recall. You’ll need a long (pretty sure 19mm) socket. I ‘repaired’ mine with a blob of solder on the end of the plunger (French Mike tip) but it didn’t last long. For the low cost of a replacement I’d say just buy a new one. SKS - I guess it’s just worn out of tolerance to the point where, when warm, it expands enough to work but not when cold. Colvert - I was surprised to find there wasn’t a sealing washer on the one I took off. I almost posted a question about it here at the time. I fitted the new one without it- ‘seems’ ok. Anyone else found this to be the case? A Last edited by alan richard; 24th October 2020 at 07:20.. Reason: Seal question |
