Ok guys, following on from my conversation with RichardP and the update I was provided to test I can confirm the following:
  • DLRs now working only in position 2 of key
  • Bong and on screen display (scrolling) of boot & bonnet open, also reset once closed again.
  • Bong and on screen display for Over Heat (scrolling), will test reset tomorrow.
  • Not tried the over rev as engine hot at the moment.
  • Also MG/Rover now indicates on Service Information.

This is great stuff and gratitude to Richard for spending the time on these, I expect he will roll out soon and be available for all

I will update the first post once it's released but just to tease you all

I'm hoping to update my unit later today. Tony does the latest firmware allow for scrolling of song titles when in iPod mode?

That's an interesting comment as I have noticed some song titles are too long for the '0' field. Was that an option before as I haven't investigated

If not I can ask the question.

No they have never been able to scroll on our MG Rover cars, but I believe they do scroll on the Beemers?

Just thinking, if he has perfected scrolling text for Bonnet Open etc, is he able to crack iPod track info too?

Apparently u can change text size on some variants but not ours. I shall ask RichardP if this is possible.

The other bug that has always been present on the firmware I've been running since 2009 is that if you press the TONE button on the head unit while the iPod is on, it causes the highline menu screen to lock up, and you have to reboot the intravee to clear it.

I'm hoping the new firmware I'll load on tomorrow has cured this glitch.

I have not experienced that, used the tone button few times with no issues. Although I'm using a BMW widescreen and BM24 amp.

Hopefully latest firmware will overcome that.

It crashed and burned

I uploaded the latest firmware from your link to the Toys In your Car website and installed it into my Intravee II which is connected to the standard 4:3 MG Rover Bordmonitor, single tuner radio unit, mark 3 original Sat Nav and standard analogue TV Video module.

What I then got when switching on was no intravee screen at all. When you select the mode button to cycle round to CD the screen momentarily flashes to the normal CD display saying CD1 Track 1 then disappears reverting back to the high line menu screen.

The buttons on the head unit still work advancing to the next or last track playing, and every time you press one, the screen flashes for half a second back to CD1 Track 1, but then pops back to the high line main menu.

I tried manually setting the User Interface from Auto (which it had decided should be UI 6) back to UI 5 which was found to work best on our older kit, but it made no difference.

Thankfully I have been able to recover the older version of firmware that I was running before (v 5.31) and after another reboot and switch back to UI 5, I'm back to before I started.

I did try loading the new firmware a couple of times, but each time it behaved the same.

I think it must be something to do with the older hardware in the car. If you swap out your BM24 radio tuner for the original rover unit, does your system still work on the new firmware Tony?

For reference, this is what the intravee loader status log showed once the new firmware was loaded in
