Cool TomTom Splash Screens

Does this belong in the ICE forum?

Anyway

Only tested on TomTom GO (300 and 700, should also work on a 500 & a One), unable to get this to work on Navigator or Mobile, alas

Simple to do, right click an image, save as splash.bmp on to the Desktop of your PC. Plug your GO into your PC, find splash.bmp, rename to oldsplash.bmp, copy new image over.

Enjoy

Very nice Rich!

I use CoPilot on my Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC/ Telephone and have the Rover badge logo as the wallpaper.

If you replace the suspend.bmp as well, then it will be shown during shut down, too. Any BMP file in a size of 320 x 240 should do the job.

Here's another one:

Mines called 'splashw' when I replaced your saved .bmp and renamed the old one I just got a blank screen.

I wonder what I'm doing wrong.......

The resolution of the BMP file must be exact. Even with the right width of 320px but a height of less than 240px it won't be shown.

Which TomTom do you use? Maybe the screen has a different resolution.

BTW a JPEG doesn't work either.

Yep, you'll need 480 by 272 pixel, assuming the display of the 500 is the same as of the 510.

Wait a minute ...
... there you go.

This one is 480 pixel wide and 272 pixel high, so it should be good for the 510, 710 and 910, too.
