Question Symphony cd changer wiring

Hello!

Planning ahead, I'm going to be fitting a Symphony head unit in my 75 in the next couple of weeks and want to make sure I've got everything ready first.

My 2001 Club has a BMW connector, so I've bought a BMW/ISO converter/loom from ebay and am now moving onto the cd changer side of things.

Can anyone tell me if this cable will connect the cd changer to the Symphony without requiring anything else?

Or bottom line, if you can spare me 2 mins, can you check this out before I buy one?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ROVER-75-GLOVE...QQcmdZViewItem

The seller claims the changer, with supplied lead, will "connect to a rover radio" which isn't great advice. I need to know if this would be the cable I'd run from the glove box to the Symph.

Is there anything else I need??

Cheers

Would you believe I'm actually downgrading to a Symphony setup??

See the for sale forum in about 20mins

I don't think that lead will work with a Symphony, the plugs look all wrong, in any case make sure that all the pins in both of the ISO plugs are connected through or the steering controls and telephone mute won't work

Thanks for the ISO tip there raykay, I'll be sure they're all present!

I suppose my best bet is to just buy a cd changer and then find a suitable lead to mate the two together?

It depends what changer you are using, if you use the MGR Alpine one, then it will plug into the MGR adapter lead without any problem, I think that with other changers you will need more leads.
See the 'How to fit a CD changer in a 75' post in 'How To', 'ICE & Navigation' Forum.

Sorry, just to follow this one up, am I right in thinking there are way to many cables in the top photo of the first post?

Does the Symph <> CD Changer cable usually consist of just one piece of wire?

Would this loom in the top photo be for cars not fitted with something, as it appears to have all manner of connectors on it.

As far as I know, the MGR lead for the Symphony to OE changer has a BMW plug on one end, two ISO plugs and the three piece mini ISO's on the other end and the cables for the changer 'tee' out of lead with the plug on the end. I would expect adapter leads for different changers would be similar.
