Gone in 60 seconds!........
.....Or way less! One of the most technical / expensive production cars in the world ( A Tesla model S) can be taken in literally 15 seconds off a London driveway in the early hours of yesterday.
It's absurd in this day & age that thieves can steal a car so easily, it can happen to any car and not just Tesla cars, Are we going to have to go back to krooklocks?

This is because todays cars are built with so high tech that security is almost forgotten. Everything goes in favour of user friendlynes sin order to buy cars, but in the same time securtiy aspect is not taken into account good enough.
You always need to sacrifice part or more of good user experience in order for product to be secure enough. Obviously car "key" was not in aluminium bag which should be given as key storage place in order to stop such car theft. |

I used to make the "keys" for the model S. I am not shocked this has happened. I'd say more but it might get me in trouble!

I've had the keyless entry disabled on my Focus RS and have a Disklok if I leave it anywhere.

on people brag about their new cars and how good this and that is, lol
Alas it is a wake up call to owners who's cars get stolen this way. It goes to show how clever criminals are, hacking remote entry has been going on for years. Most of us would not know where to start. If they dont steal the car by picking up the signal then do they turn to violence and or break in's to get the keys ? It is a risk people risk by having something nice. Trackers and remote disabling would perhaps help macafee2 |

People could move the keys further from the front door.
All security is a compromise between access and protection. |
