Default Moved CD changer to boot.

I have this evening moved my MP3 CD changer from the glove box to the spare wheel well in the boot.
I ran the cable down the passenger side footwell uncliping the plastic trims that hold the carpet at the botom of the doors then into the boot.
Tested everything worked, success! changer worked fine.
But, and here is the question, anyone know an easy way of getting the plastic trims that hold the carpet back on?
Mine is a facelift car, but the strips seem similar to the mk.1 . They push onto a mushroom shaped clip.
There must be an easy way as I can't believe workers at MG Rover would find it as difficult as I have.

the clips are treated as an expendable item.
with a towing electrics kit you get a new set of clips with the intention that the old ones are removed ( usually destroying them in the process) and the new ones are fitted to the trim pieces which are then pushed into place.

I dont know whether the clips are available as a service item, Im sure someone will advise.

If you need the part number Ill post it up tomorrow when Ive had a look at them in the garage

Why did you move it Dave? Between the boot and glove box I prefer the glove box. Changing the CD's in the 260 means I have to take out all the bits and bobs first.

I moved the changer from the glovebox to the boot because I needed more room in the glovebox to keep books, maps and the other bits and pieces SWMBO requires.
Besides with having a 6 disc MP3 changer, something like eight hundred tracks are available, so I don't have to change cd's very often.
I bought a MG Rover mounting bracket for the changer to fit on the side of the boot, but have not used it. Fitting it in the spare wheel well keeps it out of the way and takes up less boot space.

Too right Alex!
When I was told the price today £1.40 per clip I thought it must be a mistake.
But no, thats the list price now.
Bought six in a pack. Fitted them this afternoon luckily I managed to remove two without breaking so now I have 3 spare.
