Rear parcel shelf insulation
Can anyone tell me, was this the only sound insulation that was dropped under project drive?

I was under the impression that there was a lot more deleted, my car has virtually none anywhere!! Always something I wanted to do was to add some, lots of hard work to pull out all the interior though, and not good weather!!

When?
When did project drive start? I think my 2000 2 litre V6 could do with more, or have I just got used to the silence? What else could I do to add more sound insulation?

My 2003 reg 75 has this, if your car dont, i have a 1999 car sitting at home with all the sound profing,
There is no less or no more than my 03reg 75, Apart from the amount of tar matting on the insides of the doors, |

I think that the sound insulation in the wheel arches was removed too.

I've got bare metal (car Colour) visible in my Wheel Arches.
The Bulkhead soundproofing wasn't on the MG and not all 75's. Under the Floor carpets was originally better insulated to I believe. |

Ken, No one ever seems to know or mention it,
but when I bought my Car I was asked about extras I wanted fitted on ordering and was asked if I wanted extra Insulation behind roof lining. Now I have looked through all the Specs and can find no mention of this, so I'm not sure if it was there, then removed and available as an extra on Facelift models. Is the Curtain Air Bags classified as extra sound Insulation as well? Last edited by JohnDotCom; 22nd July 2007 at 17:25.. Reason: spelling |

right,
The old carpet was a lot better, much thinker - when i put this in my 03 reg i noticed the diffrence, Both 03 and 1999 cars has the bag of foam in the bottom of the C piller, but on the rear of the B piller they have removed the foam stuff from the inside - think this stopps rattles from wires etc, Other than that i cant find any thing else, |
