The mg metro had a 'a' series motor, lucky people got a 'a+' even luckier people got 'a turbo' the rover metro came with a k series.

You can very very easily fit a 1.8i or vvc into a rover metro, it's now where near as easy to do in a mg metro

If he's still keen there seems to be a quite tidy one on autotrader £595

There is one on Pistonheads too although it might not need the MGF engine to make it faster

Details HERE although there is no price quoted.

Not sure if it's really what he is after.......

Default One on Ebay - Cheap (so far)

Okay, on a more serious note there is a white one on ebay at the moment.

DETAILS HERE

Bids now at £351 at the moment with 5 days to go.

HTH

There are actually 4 on ebay at the moment (and one of these a Turbo) but most are quite expensive as I assume these are now becoming "collectable"

This one really surprised me. DETAILS HERE

They are looking for £1995 for a D Reg MG Metro. It does have only 21,000 miles and looks in sharp order.

And a VIDEO!!

However, the bit that caught my attention was that it is one of only 130 left registered on the road! No wonder the prices look "expensive".

I think your friend may struggle with his plan..........

My mate as now got a mg metro in white, its a F-reg and its got 10 months m.o.t on it but no tax.

its only covered 47,000 miles from new with service history and i have to say myself it looks like new.

he likes it that much he as said he aint gonna bother trying to fit the mgf engine as he thinks it would spoil it.

he paid £600 for it and all in all it was a 300 mile round trip.

he as asked me to thank all members for the links that was provided
