EDIT: My error -TOAF does run under Win 10.

Yes you have the correct cable/connector.
Do you see the USB connected cable in Device Manager?

Just checked my eBay as I bought one last year from Spain which works with Windows 10, but doesn't appear to have any at the moment.

You sure it's not a port setting problem? Sorry can't advise as Windows is the devil's OS in my book. But I know that when I try one of my USB ports I can't connect but on another which is now arrowed with a crayon, it does. All very strange stuff port settings to a Mac user.

But there are folk on here who might advise further if you need Windows assistance, Hogweed is a Win user and helpful.

Regards

Shaun, mine works on Windows 10. I had a real struggle to make that happen and there was a lot of messaging beyween me and the TOAF guru in Poland. In the end it was ALL China's fault.

I had also bridged pins 7 & 8. What I didn't realize (and who would?) was that the Chinese OBD2 adapter plug numbered BOTH rows of pins 1 through 8 instead of the sensible way of 1 through 16! What an asinine thing to do. I opened up the 7 & 8 pins I had soldered and bridged the OTHER 7 & 8 pins and it immediately worked perfectly.

Cheers,
Glenn

Did you check the pin numbering on your adapter plug?

Make sure you have selected the correct COM port. With the cable connected right click on MY COMPUTER or THIS PC and click manage, click on device manager and click on COM in the list and note which COM port is listed then select that in TOAF.

This will help. I believe this photo comes somewhere from the forum, so not mine.

Perfect. In my case it was numbered 1-8, then turn the plug over and the other row was also numbered 1-8. I had to open the first 7 & 8 I soldered and solder the OTHER 7 & 8 at the opposite corner.

Cheers,
Glenn
