Default Advice needed for roof mount cycle carrier

There are lots around from really cheap to expensive but which ones are recommeded, does anyone have them fitted??

In halfords they range from 26-115 euros, what do you get for the price as thats a big difference.

Backache, armache and a headache if the bike slips whilst you're putting up there. I had one for a while and found it a pain.

Add wallet-ache to that list
- they ruin your fuel economy (if you care - I do).

If you have, or can get, a tow ball, then Halfords and others do some good ones that clamp on to the ball.

Surprisingly strong and stable, and zero drag.
So good I bought one myself - though I got it half-price of ebay

True.

I have a tow bar one now too, almost got a tow bar to mount it to as well, if it ever stops raining!

If you have roof bars these Rover branded ones should do the trick

Do you happen to have a tow bar mate?

Instead of a tow bar mount, if you have the space a small trailer is excellent for two or more.

I find the price of a towbar a bit high though, although i would prefer it, do you know anywhere that is reasonably priced?

I wish id of know mate, I was offered a full one last week for £30 (none detachable), but already have one and didnt have the spare reddies.

Ebay and gumtree are perfect for them, we can watch the local scrapyards for you if you want?
