And then when the car finally reaches it end of life you recycle it. That copper get used as copper again, same with the lithium. There are companies now operating to do this and more coming online as the resources have great value to be recycled not dug out new. And all of this comes without polluting the air we breathe in daily.

How many litres of the fuel and oil you use, gets recycled?? Every single week more is pumped out the earth and burnt, ready for the next litter of oil to be pumped over and over again
If you’re bothered by fresh resources removal you would walk and not drive anything.

As for total life of emissions they have thankfully has plenty of academics run the numbers they are cleaner by a large margin over their life and then they don’t pollute the air where we all live
I have a better suggestion than using an electric car. Just don’t buy them. What will they do then? Really, people are their own worse enemy. It reminds me of a saying that used to wind me up when I used to have to earn a living. ‘Weelll what can we do’. Plenty of things you CAN do, but no one is willing to do it.Sheep comes to mind.

i see the EU is trying to fix a date to cease production of fossil fuel cars.
There saying the last fuel cars must be built by 2030 to achieve zero emissions
by 2050.
The govts of europe have alot of infrastructure to put in place in 7 years!!
The plan is to eventually tax the hell out fossil fuel and of anyone still using fossil fuel cars.
Done the same with cigarettes over here, over $20 a pack now!!

I doubt there will be many ICE vehicles built after 2025 let alone 2030, That's when the next Euro Cat 7 comes in & no full internal combustion engine will meet the 80g/km limit and they certainly wont want to throw away £hundreds millions in fines again.

I was reading yesterday that Ford are following Mercedes & repurposing their EU plants for the transition over to BEV's giving the Ford Transit diesel engine plant in Dagenham more time to transition over to electric. https://todaynewspost.com/auto-news/...s-in-ev-shift/

Aston Martin will commence their electric sports cars in Gaydon in 2025 & they will be building a BEV SUV in St Athan Wales https://autovistagroup.com/news-and-...-production-uk

Yes they will, they are all married or otherwise to people who kick a round ball around for a 'living'.

Speak of the devil! Fresh off the press this afternoon. Looks like they want the tougher limits as early as June this year

"The European Commission will propose tougher CO2 standards for new cars in Europe in June as part of a package of policies aimed at delivering its goal to cut net EU greenhouse gas emissions at least 55 percent by 2030, from 1990 levels, and steer the bloc towards climate neutrality by 2050.
The current CO2 standards need a "significant strengthening," and the EU must also bolster charging and refuelling infrastructure for zero-emission vehicles, the countries said."

What the hecks going on at Jaguar since Thierry Bollore resigned? Jaguar to slash dealerships to under 20 in the UK over the next two years https://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publ...o-years/281052
And further afield they're asking some dealers to give up their Jaguar franchises that they've invested $millions in by 2025. https://worldnewsera.com/automobile/...hises-by-2025/

They are trying to go exclusive, a friend recently went into a Jaguar dealer looking for a new F Type, he was basically told he would go on the waiting list and they would ring him when they had a slot for his order.
How can this be a way of selling cars?
