Default Dosing pump

Thanks mate. I have been looking for a new pump today. I believe from the online pics the 2nd hand pump I fitted today is from a Land Rover Discovery, If they are still available new I'd imagine they would be a reliable pump source for us lucky fbh owners . Lee.

Good to see a positive conclusion posted up, as it will no doubt help others to save some time fault finding.👍

Hi Lee. Glad your up and running. That's great news. French mike did service th PCB correctly then.. and it was th dosing pump.. Talking of pumps. My under bonnet fuel lift pump threw a bearing this week. 72 qwid and a hour to fit. So we must be brother's in th weird world of pump probs..

Afternoon all,

just a little update. I cleaned the FBH although it didn't look too bad. French Mike has checked & cleared the fault on the pcb (burner fault) which he thinks may be a glow plug error.

Fingers crossed it all works,

Rob

Evening all,

a quick update, & not good news
I received the pcb back from FrenchMike but the fbh still wouldn't work. Over the weekend I followed his diagnostic instructions - using the magic tester.
It would appear that the pump is at fault. The bulb would glow but there was no sound of the pump pulsing. Would this imply I just need a new pump?
I hope so as this would be a cheap fix.

Thanks,

Rob

the pump needs a pulsed power delivery.hence the clicking.it will now be cold enough over the nxt two days for the fbh to run when it fires up give the pump a tap it may be stuck

Default fbh

The pump may need priming if it hasn't been used for a while. It could be the power plug to the pump needs a clean or the pump may be knackered. Check the 1st 2 as they are free fixes and likely culprits. Lee
To prime the pump you will need to remove the fuel pipe from the FBH and apply a pulse of 12v repeatedly to the dosing pump until you get diesel at the FBH end.

Hi Lee,

How would I prime the pump? I should be able to have a go on Monday.

Thanks
