Default Smokey CDTI

Evening all.

My 75 CDTI facelift has always smoked.
So I've replaced the intercooler O-Rings (although...theres oil in the bottom of intercooler).
Also replaced the PCV filter and I serviced it about 3k ago.

I took it for a run up the street giving it the boot, had to turn around as undertray fell down *sigh*. Would it need more than a few hundred yards to clear itself out?

Anyone had the same issue after the usual orings and filter fix?? if so what turned out to be the issue.

Cheers all.

Suggest you check your top intercooler hose from intercooler to egr valve body for splits or holes, also check the air sensor in the alloy section to ensure it is not leaking and finally ensure the plastic elbow that houses the seals is fully home in the intercooler.
We assume that your smoke is dark in colour and not white, if it's white smoke, you may need to have the injectors checked for spray pattern & leak-back.
