Thanks Brian. Mum's a tough old stick for 86 and already zipping about with a zimmer and can't wait to get out and about in her little Mitsubishi Pajero junior!.
Most worrying shes talking about getting the ladders out to trim the hedge as soon as the weather allows They're now in the back of my car just to be safe.

sounds extreme - I only use soap and water on mine in the shower and that seems to do the trick

Opened the coolant cap to a hiss and non-existent coolant level.




Thus confirming the diagnosis of a leak (probably from the radiator), as it was topped up perfectly yesterday and hasn't turned a revolution since!
