Cant unlock the car
I've had one of my ZTs sat on the drive for around a month or so while I waiting to get some work carried out. The battery has now come flat so I cant get access to the car via the fob. When I put the key into the drivers door to try and unlock with the key, its solid. No movement what so ever. Anyone got any tips on how to either gain access to the engine bay or how to get the seized door lock to realise?

Spray WD40 or plus gas (thin spray tube if you can) into the keyhole (you may need to partially insert something to keep the dust seal out of the way) and let it sit for a while. Use the key and try to turn from side to side. Do NOT force it. You may then get a little side to side movement. Repeat the WD40/Plusgas spraying and repeat (may take several applications). Eventually they usually free off. I use my key in the door lock every so often just to keep it free and use a lock lubricant also (graphite spray).

I believe that you can also power up the electrics by jacking up the car and using jump leads via an earth and one of the starter leads, if you know what you are doing (on a diesel) but don't attempt this if you are unsure.

So I've spent the last couple of days working my way through a can of WD-40, spraying directly into the door lock and trying to move the key side to side to try and free up the seized lock to no avail.. the car is a mk2 so I have no access to the car via the boot. Does anyone know a way of gaining access to the engine bay by releasing the bonnet latch cables so that I can change the battery.
