Default Cooling fan fix due.

Got few days to mess with so could be attemping to put right the non working of the slow speed. Bit of a scarey project as am going to attempt to repair the fan that's faulty. Aurora from E.M.S kindly gave me a faulty motor that they had replaced, so i've set about, and successfully, removed the good brushes from it, and hope to transplant one to the worn one on mine. Sort of challange I like so what's to lose ?
Will either be or

Will do my best to, if successful . Sure am hopeful as there must be so many good brushes going to waste and these are such expensive motors to replace for the sake of one brush !.

You can also get replacement brushes from places that repair Alternators. they are very similar to ones used by Bosch

Well bit the bullit today and removed the fan. Oh dear what a mess it was in, couldn't have worked on any speed for ages. Right pig of a job thanks to some previous donks handy work removing the bumper etc. Anyroad managed to make one fan out of two duff ones connected the wiring and heard a strange noise, never heard since I've owned the vehicle, the fan came on with a/c on, happily werring away. All back together now and happy as sandboy so far. I'd just like to say though, before anyone mentions a "How To", I began to take pics but due to the difficulties incurred, I wouldn't recommened the methods I had to use and to be brutally honest not sure how long this repair will last . If there were a section on "How NOT To" I'd post it up. But at the moment I have a working fan and am in front of what I had before. Fingers X'ed and see how long it lasts. Good job i've got my Han's temp gauge for peice of mind.

Try going to one of those places that fixes alternators. You'll be surprised what they can get hold of just by looking at it as a template.
