Smiley plates with 75&ZT owners badge
Does anyone know if the smiley plates can be made with the 75&zt owners logo on them?
MODS? Would the club allow this! Could we possibly look into someone making these available A cool plate needs a cool logo and would make members cars stand out in a crowd!!

Why not fit the club rad badge on to the spare space at the side of your smiley plate You can have GB badge or union Jack one side and bolt your club badge on the other , Very smart Dave

Perfectly fine to make a plate with the Club's logo on it. If possible, include the URL underneath like most members have already done. Don't forget, of course - we like to see pictures of the finished result

Smiley Plates
I posted a picture of my smiley plate a few weeks ago. That's all I have left of it. Plate now lying somewhere along a French country lane after the sticky fixers came unstuck. These plates are heavy. Make sure you fix them properly. Fortunately had my old plate in the car and French garage fitted that back with pop rivets to keep me legal. Need to order a new plate when I get back but what is the best way of fixing them?

The stuff I use is black in colour rather than the usual white rubbish. A good automotive supplier should sell it, around £5 for a roll of about 3m. (It's so strong if you try and remove the plate you'll end up removing the backing ) Make sure that you clean the area of the boot where the plate fits with thinners to remove wax etc to help adhesion. Fixing smiley plates
Quote:
After having trouble with sticky fixers from Halfords I coated the whole of the plate with double-sided tape. Problem seemed to arise on hot days where different coefficients of expansion raised the plate from the mounting. After a succession of hot days and cool nights plate started sliding down the recess to the point where it reached the edge of the recess which, being pressed steel, was no longer flat so contact lost. Removal and refixing with even more sticky stuff clearly failed to resolve problem. Front plate is still totally secure with original Halfords stickers. Having used stickers with conventional plates on other cars in the past I wonder if the smiley plates are just too heavy and close-fitting but will try to source your material. Thanks again
