I'm after the electrical plug which connects to the sunroof switch, should it still be there.

Also, if you can follow the part of the loom that it is attached to, can you see one or two relays please?

The reason, is that I have an aftermarket electric sunroof, with a switch using lucar connectors, and wired direct to ign. battery. i.e full current through the switch.

A cct. diagram of the 75 set up that I have, doesn't show any relays.

However, the correct 75 switch (which I already have) doesn't appear heavy enough to drive the sunroof motor, without relays.

So,
1, The plug, for which I'll construct a relay based loom.
or
2, The plug, plus whatever may be attached, for me to keep as original as possible.

Delivered price please, if you can help.

With thanks,

Regards

Mike.
Hi Mike, yes I can chop that off for you, there won’t be any relays as it’s done through the body computer

Thanks, so am I right in that the Body Control Unit, or whatever, takes the motor current?

If so, is it practical to also supply the harness that goes from the BCU to the Sunroof itself.

i.e., if I'm not barking up the wrong tree, the switch sends a low amperage signal to the BCU, which then supplies 20 odd amps to the motor (bi-directional?)

Many Thanks

Mike

Red face

I take it your contemporary se tourer has black leather seats? If so, how is the driver's seat? On mine, the plastic bit with all the controls has mostly come away from the rest of it. Everything still works, but occasionally my seat moves of its own accord!

If the seat is a good direct replacement, I would be happy to drive down (when possible) if you could help me replace my seat. I'm hopeless at diy! Obviously, I would pay you for your time in doing so.

It has some bolster wear but isn’t horrendous but to be honest I’d rather not split the set

John, Colin is only just up the road from me, if you want your seat fixed, then you know what to do

I suspect anyone else breaking a car with sport leather won't wish to split up a set either

Brian - would that be drive down to see you, watch and learn as you show me how to fix it, and even get my wheels refurbished down the road at bargain price?

How I wish! When are you re-locating to Central Scotland?

Looking for bonnet release cable divider block. Rimmers have them but it’s taking ages to come and I could do with one now!
