Hello to everyone!
Hi!
I've just picked up my third 75 tourer, and felt it is about time I joined the club. My latest is a 2003 75 connoisseur SE Tourer with the 2.5L v6 engine in dark blue. She is a sweetie, and I'm so glad to be back behind the wheel of a 75. The car is loaded, paperwork with it lists the purchase price as £22,890. It has a highline navigation which is working (sort of). There are number of questions I have that maybe someone here could answer or point me to the right thread. 1: the GPS is stuck in Norfolk and I'm in Cheshire. I'm thinking this might be an issue with the shark fin from my googling, does this sound right? 2: The little LCD screen top centre of the dash that shows warnings is failing. Can it be repaired? 3: Is there any way the TV can be changed to display as a monitor? I fancy putting my phone screen onto the display. 4: The car has had springs replaced several times. Is this a known issue or is there something else going on? 5: Who is the best Rover specialist in West Cheshire (Northwich, Chester, Liverpool or Manchester) 6: Is there a good supplier for used spares? The boot cover is very poor, for example, and I would like to replace it. 7: There are a few modern upgrades such as stop/start that I would like to add, anyone know if this has been done? There you go, quite a few questions to start with! Regards, Richard |

for second hand spares there is a wanted section, also a trader here, mickeboy does 2nd hand. As for the pixelating of the dash. Another trader Rick-sta is the man to ask. He did have some new screens made but I dont now if he has any left. macafee2 |

Hi Richard,
Welcome to the club! Sounds like you have a nice car there, do you have any photos you could share? For your navigation problem, have a look through the ICE section of the forum, there might be something helpful in there: https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...splay.php?f=27 As mentioned above, Rick-sta is the guy to talk to for message centre repairs: https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=260807 There's plenty of folks on eBay, Facebook and the like selling spares and breaking cars. It might be worth putting a post in the wanted section too: https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...splay.php?f=59 Personally, I wouldn't try to retrofit stop/start to our cars, the engine bearings, starter motor, electrical system and so on weren't designed for it. https://cloreautomotive.com/engine-s...ems-explained/ Cheers!

If you're in the Chester area, you're about 40 miles from Jules in Colwyn Bay.
There may be others closer to you but he's certainly one of the small group of really good Rover people around - 07831 457011 Sorry, just spotted it's Northwich so a bit further but an easy journey and well worth it. Last edited by Ken Lion; 13th March 2023 at 14:16.. |
