Aerial signal poor?

I rarely use my radio but recently tried it and the signal was very poor. Any suggestions as to possible weak points ? I understand that the heated rear screen is the aerial and yet all the screen heater appears to be working OK.

It's a harmony unit. It seems OK on Medium Wave stations though!

The weather has been pretty bad the last couple of days, so not a good signal anyway.

That's funny, I thought it would be the other way round, as AM/Medium wave are looking to be phased out due to broadcasters migrating to FM & DAB.

I've fitted a new amplifier, cleaned up all the earths and connections and it's still the same. Good on MW but FM is pants. Doh!
