I know it's not really suited to this post but I bet the worn tyre was the front passenger. I'm getting through them like they are made of butter. Is this common?

Have a look through the tech forums for uneven tyre wear threads. Common causes are misaligned wheels. Could also be faulty suspension components (ie snapped road spring). If you can't find an answer then post up a new thread in the tech forum

Good diagnosis..
Tyre wear was caused by snapped road spring.

Thanks to Nigel I now have a spare set of crown Alloys so can now have a full size spare instead of the spacesaver.
Nice day out and a good run to Buckinghamshire and back, first long run with the new Automatic gearbox fitted.
Tank filled to brim at start and then filled on return only used 16.5 litres for the 182 mile round trip which gives 50.31 MPG kept it at 62mph on cruise.

Hi Darryn, and to the club.

There's always a glut of 15" Crown alloys, there are quite a few members who have sets of these lying around myself included.

If you put your location on your profile it will help.

Russ
