Default 2 questions!

Can someone please tell me the size of the driveshaft nut on a ZT190? I need a new socket!
Also what is the purpose of the silicone pipe (about 4 or 5mm) fitted to the front hub near the inner end of the track control arm, there is an 8mm bolt which appears to hold an oval retaining plate and the pipe entering the hub?
Importantly - how is the pipe removed, bolt out, but not releasing the mystery (to me) pipe???
