v8 sun roof
Had lots of problems with my sun roof, it stayed tilted no matter what. It spent ages in the repair shop, all they achieved was getting it closed. It`s disconnected at the switch, they told me the mechanism is shot. Can any one recommend a garage or body shop near Yeovil who may be able to sort the problem out. Its not leaking but would like to get it working at some point.

Most likely your sun roof motor is burned out, and most likely because the blind does not operate smoothly, and has caused it to jam during the owning process.
In order to check the mechanism, you can open and close the roof with an Allen key. The motor is behind the roof light, and has the drive slot for the Allen key. |

To get the interior light down, you'll need to pop out the lens & then you'll find two screws holding the light unit in.

The sunroof can easily go out of sync. if it still works but just defaults to tilt when you try & close it simply press the centre of the button & hold it for quite a few seconds (seems to vary) & all of a sudden the sunroof will cycle & once it's finished it should work as normal.
If it doesn't work at all then as above the motor is your chief suspect. |

Good idea............re-syncing may be worth a try.
I know this is obvious but, you'll have to reconnect your switch first. |
