Default Booked in for two new tyres, twang.....

Isn't the cold weather wonderful. Booked in for a new pair of 225 45 18 on the front. Started car, cleared off the snow. Started to reverse out of the drive. Twang, car feels like its dragging. a wheel , guess what happened?
Oh well could be worse, could have happened tomorrow.
Wheels off and off to the tyre shop in wifes car.
Rover now sat on drive looking sorry for itself. just hope when it gets a bit warmer the strut/hub pinchbolt comes out ...

And get some grease in top mount or better still replace. Biggest cause of snapped spring

Top mount was replaced around five year ago as was the spring (Rimmers), 5 yr for a spring is not long in my opinion, did both at same time passenger side is still looking good. Right hand side ( drivers) is the one that has failed seems to get all the cr@p. Got a new spring, new top mount and even new strut in my pile of stash, I just know that pinch bolt is going be trouble

Definitely the worst best time for a spring to fail. Freezing cold but before buying brand new tyres. Your luck is definitely improving Dave.
