Default Help re Hand brake cables re manufactured

The V8 hand brake cables are specific to that model only and are no longer made, the retail price from X part was in the region of £ 107.00 each plus vat !!
X Part kindly gave me the manufactures details but there will no more as they have been taken over and moved.

However I have contacted a company in Wiltshire who will make 100 sets for approx £ 40.00 -£ 45.00 all in.
The problem is I have a new RHD as a pattern but need either a new LHD or a pair of used cables, I can calculate the stretch from the new one.
If anyone could lend me a set they would only be needed for a week at the most

Once we have them made they will be available from the 260's club

Geoff

If one is not forthcoming, why not buy an Xpart one, and just add the cost onto the new cables, as it'll only add a couple of pounds on to each set....

Because we cannot get a pair - the LHD (I think) is not available so we do not have dimensions

If Xpart don't get any more made they surely can provide the measurements for those who want to have them made?

If Xpart would give the details to the twosixties, I'm sure there'll be enough interest to keep the prices at an acceptable level

Do not know if Geoff has tried this approach, but knowing Geoff I expect he has

I hope you're wrong

Would be a bit childish if Xpart have the info we want, decide not to have it made anymore, and also not releasing the info

They didn't have the info when I last asked re another cable,
that was held with the manufacturer of them, now gone.
They have had several items remade from scratch, new machined tools etc and imports from Chinas MG7
but do not see a demand for the outlay for these few cars, understandably.

Checked all the XPart official outlets and isn't one to purchase in Europe to copy.
