Default changing the interior

how difficult is it to change the interrior of a Tourer?

a member has a tourer for sale but i like sandstone interiors and so would want to swop it.

I havent done a tourer, however, I cannot see it being any different to the saloon. It is easy really, just bolts and a tug here and there.

Just disconnect the battery for 30 minutes or so prior to starting to allow any charge in the airbags to dissipate (although unlikely, it could set off the airbags). Check to prior to starting, what bolts are fitted to the front seats, to make sure you have the correct socket. Some seem to be Ribe M8, others tx plus 50, and again some others torx 50 (or is it 55? lol I cant remember )

Four bolts each on the fronts
Four or six on the rear folding
One or two each on the rear bolsters (if fitted to the tourer)
Rear base should lift out.

Depends on how much you want to change from one tourer to the other.

Changing the carpet and the seats is half a days work.

Changing the door cards and all the sandstone trim takes a couple of hours ( make sure you have some new plastic clips for the door cards).

If you are going to change all the sandstone trim in the load are allow a couple of hours.

If you have to re fit everything back into the donor car, then double the time.

I have changed everything from one tourer to another and it took two of us a full day.

Just give yourself plenty of time and don't rive and tear at the trim mouldings , the tangs are fragile , and keep your hands clean .

I would agree with the comments lodged so far, but the load area will be time consuming to get it fitted nicely, also if your changing the roof lining make sure you get all of the lights and grab handles to match, glove box lid, steering wheel cowling, centre console, drivers side knee crash pad, kick panels, heater closure panels, carpet sill trims, seat belts and so on.

It sounds daunting, but if you want it the way you want it, it is worth it.

thank you.
I dont think I mind the effort, big worry is getting a complete sandstone interior for a decent price if I get a Tourer with a different colour inside.

I think on this a bit more

cheers
