Default Tourer Spare Wheel Tool Storage Removal

In the tourer, beneath the rear storage area we have the spare wheel bay. Sometimes there is a foam structure in which the tools are stored, it surrounds the bay area around the wheel, supported by the metal outer structure.

How does one remove these foam inserts?

Isn't it just glued in?

My current Tourer has it and I like it.
The previous one didn't. I had more storage space for tools, tow rope etc but there is nothing I can't get in the new car.

You will have to remove all this to replace the foam.

Both wheel arch covers, plus the trim below the load windows and the rear wheel well trim.

Allow a couple of hours to do the job.

Many thanks for that, as I feared. I was thinking of taking the inserts out of a vehicle that will be picked up on Monday. Will have to assess things on Sunday.

thanks again.

If the vehicle you're removing them from is being picked up on Monday is no longer going to be in use and is just being used as a donor car then the job of removing the tool surrounding is a lot quicker (30min) as you don't need to worry about replacing all of the trim. You can then fit it to your own tourer at a later date...

DONE: HAD A CRAZY IDEA THAT I HAD TO GET RID OF MY MG ZTT DUE TO NOT HAVING A DRIVE AND HAVING TO PARK ON A BUSY STREET WITH A VIEW TO GETTING ANOTHER ONE AT A LATER DATE WHEN I HAVE A DRIVE.

ENDED UP REALISING IT REALLY ISN'T PRACTICAL NOT HAVING A CAR TO GET AROUND AND I NOW OWN A VW EOS 3.2 V6 INDIVIDUAL (1 OF 20 REMAINING IN THE UK WITH THAT ENGINE AND TRIM COMBO) EVEN THOUGH I STILL LIVE ON A BUSY ROAD WITHOUT A DRIVE
