May need a small runabout any ideas please
May be looking for a cheap runabout to keep the wife away from the 75
Probably diesel or small petrol hatch, girlie proof, ( She doesn't understand why she should open a bonnet.) Looking for a good track record in reliability, dont want to spend a fortune as i know it will not be washed/loved just started and driven Friend of mine has a fiat brava that seems to run forever and never falters is this typical of the marque? any other suggestions. No Phil i don't want a Marina

The diesel Rover 200/400's are reliable buses Dave.
My Mrs has had the 400 and the 600 diesel models. Good MPG and performance and the comfort isn't bad either and best bit they can be picked up cheap. |

We have a Yaris as a second car , it has never even thought about letting us down. Car is easy to service yourself and get 50mpg.
Not the cheapest but have a very good reputation and hold their prices fairly well |

I would go for a little 200, 25, ZR Diesel. (My Mum has the latter), the Diesels Deliver about 50mpg and off the top of my head road tax is around £120 a year as they have low emissions and to top it off the L series unit in them doesn't suffer head gasket problems like the K Series.
