Default Having trouble sleeping :(

Morning all yes I know I'm up at silly o clock, no natter how hard I try and I just can't seem to sleep what so ever, its been going for the last few weeks to be honest.

I'm tired and I can feel it in myself, I'm not resting as I should, I'm constantly restless and can't switch off.

I get maybe between three and fours hours sleep a day, If I try and sleep longer I just can't relax its like my body's used to it, during the day how ever I do feel it.

Regards to sleeping tablets, what's the NHS like on giving them or if anyone has any ideas what I could do, Please don't say just sleep, I've had that off my dad already and my mum.

I've got nothing on my mind or worried about anything, just can't seem get out of that rhythm.

Take a look at your diet. How much caffeine are you consuming in teas or coffees, how late in the day are you drinking it, stuff like that.

Check if your bed is past its best, a dodgy mattress maybe?

Maybe you are in a bit of a spiral........drink a lot of coffee, so cant sleep, next day feel very tired so drink a lit of coffee to stay awake, cant sleep.......and so on.

Certain foods always help me to sleep, such as baked potatoes, plenty of lettuce on a sandwich, and so on. Failing that, i was recently told that the premier inn, guarantee a good nights sleep. Maybe try a change of environment and book in for a night and see if you can sleep. If you can then you need to look at your bed, and or sources of disturbance around the room etc.

I usually only manage about 6 hours a night, so not sure you should listen to me though.

When I do security work I drink tons of coffee to keep me going, the hours are between 12 to 16 hours depending which site I'm working on.

I Diet consists of High carbs, protein and verge on top, including food that contain Iron and Vitamin B12.

I do a lot for training in weight lifting at the gym, but I have noticed I can't put 100% effort in because I can't seem to sleep.

Been trying to train myself tired, instead after the session I'm more active then ever, till it comes to later on in the day.

That's when I really feel it.

I'll try your ideas tonight and see what happens, I know the NHS don't like giving them out, which I can understand why too.

Can you buy them in a shop? or do you have to be prescribed them?
