How do you know?

Just because they have not posted a thread titled.........

" I died because of my worn droplinks today...", it is not safe to assume that they have not.

Poorly made drop links, water pumps, master and slave cylinders, bearings, discs, pressed steel and welded suspension components ..................... please feel free to add your own experiences to the list. How long before there are deaths attributed to failing components, in the same way that household electrical items have failed. My apologies for ranting - it just annoys me that "Great" Britain just handed all these manufacturing opportunities away.

Surely, it is because people no longer pay for quality?

You will find that many far eastern 'manufacturers' are pressing car parts one day of the week, kitchen utensils the next day, toys the following day, etc. using originals as patterns to produce something of vaguely the same form. They probably use the same material for all three.

They are amazingly perished, and I've not seen that condition before, even on replacing original ones.

I drive on normal roads, in normal conditions, I don’t go down dusty tracks, where I work it’s a tarmac road leading to a tarmac car park. The only time it sees a dusty road is at campsites for 1 week in the summer.

I’ve been back on my order history, these were ordered early last June, and fitted the next weekend. I sent a message about perishing on 30th September, was offered a replacement set of boots, and fitted these in the October half term. Had the wheels off last weekend and saw the state of the replacement boots so replaced with a brand I can’t remember, from Wilco.

The failed links had a 2 year warranty, but I figured 2 sets of boots in 10 months, I can’t be bothered with them and just won’t buy them from there again. Which is a shame as the actual joint is still fine, so with a clean up and degrease may well last, just needs boots that don’t perish.

As for quality, I went for these because they were supposed to be ‘OEM quality’, which they certainly don’t seem to be.

Hi Steve. I don’t know if it is the picture, but those rubber covers don’t look to good. You will have to let us know what make and or where you got them from if they are any good.

Why we want trade deals with countries that make substandard pattern parts is beyond me. Ive learned my lesson.
