Default Recommendation sought

Can anyone recommend a good mains powered (not from cigarette lighter socket) tyre inflator?

Cheers

Andrew

I bought a ring automotive air compressor 5 years ago, absolutely first class, thoroughly recommend it.

I have a Michelin one, it pumps tyres no problem. Its not to good being wheeled over gravel, the handle is to low down and the mains cable a bit short.

Was less then £100 had it 5 or more years, probably a lot longer then I think.
With 4 cars, 2 motorbikes, a caravan, a trailer and 4 cycles it has been great. Bit noise when filling its cylinder but it has served me well.

Apart from tyre inflating do you intend to use it for anything else?

A small air compressor, 50 litre or even 25 litre are available fairly cheaply, my Draper 50 l cost £119.
Very versatile running other air tools and make tyre checking / inflation a dream. Once you have one you'll not look back and the small ones being on wheels mean you can take a full tank anywhere even where there is no power.

I got a cheapo compressor from Screwfix, think it's branded 'Stanley", for about £90 Then an extendable hose reel from Aldi for about £20. Hose attached to the wall just inside the garage and long enough to do all 4 tyres without moving the car.

Agree a proper compressor is the way to go. Once you have one it opens options for other tools you didn't know you needed.

A retractable air hose long enough to reach a car parked on your drive and it will be the best cash you have spent in a long time.

Don't scrimp on the tyre inflator, I bought a couple of cheap options that all either broke after a short period or got damaged when they got driven over. A metal tyre inflator similar to the type you use a garage is well worth the extra.

I bought the Ryobi drill kit and got a tyre inflator free as they have a promotion on.
Powered by the battery, it’s an awesome bit of kit to have if you’re in the market for a new drill or impact. Offer of freebie runs out 24th Dec

im using a £5 one from home bargains. works fine.
last time I was in there I couldn't see the same model. The one I've got is rectangular and has a digital gauge. My dad and neighbours have also copied me and use the same model.

This is a good deal

The kit that SGS sells is always good quality and if you ever do have a problem there warranty is good as gold.
