Advice needed on slow starting.

My car runs well ,good on fuel,but is such a slow starter.Some times starts first time but after long turnover, sometimes sevaral attemps before starting.My car is fitted with synergy2,new pvc and I have cleaned and disconnected the egr.Yesterday I changed the camsensor with a good secondhand one ,same problems.It has also had the airintake mod and new pierburg maf.I can he the diesel in the tank swirling when i switch on the ignition and the front pump primming.My car as cut out a couple of times during acceleraration over 3000 revs.

My gut feel says it's a bad MAF, but I don't know diesels.

Thanks for the reply T Cut,I hadnt thought about the maf because its only 3 mounths old.But I could disconect it to give it a try.
