I shall be staying in tonight, mrs w44nty is at work,so it will be me and Georgie on our own and will be tucked up in bed well before the chimes of Big Ben.

Those of you venturing out have a great time and stay safe.

The rest of you enjoy the evening at home

Happy New Year to you all

Soon I'll find repose

And then I'll hold you in my dreams

A New Years Eve story for you all

New years eve 1975 I was out in the city for for a few drinks with my friend ,about 10pm we decided to go to a club to spend the evening,we were turned away at several clubs because they were full, there was only one more club to try and that was full as well,we struck it lucky as I knew the doorman and he made sure we got in to enjoy the night.

About 1 hour later at about 11.45 I met this young girl for the very first time,we had a dance at Midnight, she was a lovely young girl by the name of Lesley,so 40 years ago today I met my Lesley on New Years Eve 1975.

And the same to you & Lesley Steve - I've just poured myself two fingers of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum - and that'll be my alcohol intake for the night.

Pint or two of Dublin's finest Guinness and then I've got one of those drinks you freeze then partially defrost to give a go.
I shall wash that down with a couple of Whiskeys and I shall be very happy......and sound asleep probably
