Default Gear section problem

My mg zt 1.8 has developed a problem with jumping out of gear in 2nd and reverse. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Mark.

No gear crunch and clutch seems fine.

Ouch,
Hope it is only the gear linkage cables (cheap repair), I lost all gears on Sunday after coming home from watching Rod Stewart ,luckily ended up coasting into Bulenns Road just outside of Goodison Park (Everton Football Club to you heathens)! I`m sure mine is linkages but can`t really look at it while I have the tourer in the garage!

Yes I am sure you can still get them but you probably don`t need them (looking at the forums they can pull out of the brackets usually after work on clutches). If you can still select some gears usually means only one cable has come "loose" I have no gears and car is outside while I am working on my ZT-T so a good friend is going to sort mine out in his garage (need it back for work)!!

Update. One of the cables had broken at the gearbox end .I replaced both with new items, working fine now.
