On a 2 speed system, yes it is. It's hardly worth the bother though. If the low speed is operational then all you'd be doing is checking that the high speed relay works and the chances of that failing are extremely slim indeed.

If you still want to do it you'll need to join together pins 2 & 3 on the trinary switch, that's the black and yellow/grey wires, with the engine running. Make sure that you don't choose the grey/yellow wire by mistake.

Replying to the comment by Vitesse regarding the hidden brackets behind the inlet manifold. They sure are well hidden, a real pain to remove the screws. I imagine it will be even worse to refit them. The question is whether they are necessary to support the manifold.
On my earlier model there were no brackets, a lot easier to remove the manifold.

Replying to Vitesse’s comment regarding the hidden brackets behind the inlet manifold. They certainly are well hidden, what a pain of a job to remove, probably even more difficult to refit them. Any advice?

My advice: don't bother. Most of the manifolds I've removed have broken brackets or even missing, doesn't seem to make any difference to the sealing of the upper manifold.
