Default Exterior Boot Button - 75 Tourer

Hi all, the exterior boot button on my 75 tourer (the normal one at the back) is non existent. The boot itself works fine, and I can still open it without the actual button, but it’s annoying.

I don’t even know what it should look like - do i need to remove the whole boot switch and get a new one, or can I just get a replacement button to go on it?

If anyone can show me what it should look like with a button too that’d be great.

Cheers

If you’re looking for a traditional button you press in, you won’t find one. Feel under the chrome trim beneath the rover badge and you will feel a rubbery area. Just press upwards in this area as if lifting the boot, you may need to try a few times to get the correct place to find the microswitch that’s beneath that rubbery area.

I had the same problem, I took the chrome trim off and found the tiniest of micro switches in the unit. I found that with a bit of careful work you can open up the micro switch and clean the contacts. Worked fine ever since.

The OP might have been doing just that without realising it.---
