Inspect the rear of the crankshaft pulley whilst it’s off and look for any cracks in the rubber and replace if any are found.

Well some don't last but the crank pulley on my car has done over 404k miles and is still working fine, and come to think of it, so are the timing chains (there are two ).

My crankshaft oil seal was always leaking, not a lot, a tiny bit, and also my power steering pump is leaking aswel I'm guessing the oil leaking caused the belt to prematurely break? I don't think it was the power steering fluid because it doesn't leak anywhere near the ac belt. |
