Default Something I never knew.........

If you sit in your car key in hand......

Lock the car while your still inside.......

Then press the unlock button by the hazard button.....

The car doesn't unlock but the headlight washers activate with a pulsing rhythm........

Just the headlight washers.....not the screen washers.

Unlock car with the key........ it stops.

Or is my car haunted ? LOL

Do we really have to go through this routine to find this out, or is there an easier way to know the battery back up sounder is goosed?

IIRC the pump for the headlamp washers draws its power from the alarm system circuit strangely enough. Even needs aT4 session to activate if you retro-fit. Locking and unlocking whilst your in the car could I suppose have an effect on that circuit ???

aka BBUS. It is the alarm siren in some models of cars. Normally those with headlight washers. (no idea why, the wiring was related to the BBUS). There is a built in battery, which will power the siren should the alarm siren be removed/unplugged.
