3rd party parking sensors - recommendations?
I've been meaning to do something about this for years and even asked on here many moons ago, but I need to ask again in case there are updated recommendations. What are the best bets for parking sensors for a 2002 CDT Club Tourer? Presumably 3rd party as none fitted originally. I'll probably get a friendly garage to fit them rather than attempt the job myself and write off the car.
I am usually driving our 'main' car, a Qashqai these days, and I have got SO used to the parking sensors beeping when I go near anything that I just know I'm going to reverse into something in my Rover unless I equip it with sensors too. It has a towbar, don't know if that's relevant, and occasionally I user a towbar-mounted bike rack which would presumably cause the sensors to go crazy unless they can be turned off? |

About a hundred years ago I fitted some "Cisbo" parking sensors. Really easy. They include the drill bit for the holes, which are pre-marked on the back-side of the bumper. One wire to earth, trigger wire to reverse light, and another to the display, which I mounted on the rear view mirror.
Still working fine today |

Not sure I really need the visual display, to be honest. The beeps by themselves would be enough. Do the beeps actually come from the display on the Cisbo, or somewhere else?

Like Ron, I got a cheapo kit off eBay a million years ago. Mine doesn't have the little LED display thingy, and cost the princely sum of about £13.
Been working fine ever since (8-10 years I suppose) The beeper is on a wire out of the gubbins in the boot - you can stick it where you want, eg on the parcel shelf or wherever...
