Default Electric windows

Took my connie out today first ime in a week and as i was driving
i thought i would lower the drivers window to knock the snow off
at first it would not move frozen i thought so i left it for 10 mins
and tried again it stuttered but eventually come down BUT when
i tried to raise it.... nothing...I could hear the motor but the window
would not move when i got home i took the door card off to have a
look i managed to lift the window then lowered it by pressing the button
but it will not raise via the button i had a rummage round (in the dark)
and it looked like one of the steel cables has been getting snarled up
but i give up after an hour in the cold so i just pushed it back into
the closed position and thought i would ask you guys for advice

sheaf about 18inch long tat one of the cables ran through it looked like it worked in a similar way to a bicycle break cable
