Possible water leak on turbo
Hi
My 1.8 turbo 75 seems to be leaking water from somewhere. I noticed last couple of times that the tank was pretty much empty. After last time, I topped it up. Only driven about 10 miles since. Check today, and it’s empty again. Oil level looks fine and just looks like oil. Any idea what the issue could be ? Thanks.

Can be many things - is your expansion cap OK - do the O rings look OK, could be a split hose/loose hose - do you still have a plastic t-piece - a big failure point on the Turbo - how much are you losing - if you need to refill the expansion tank after 10 miles its more than a weep - possibly the IMG or even a failing water pump. Any sign under the car or staining anywhere ? I usually run the car for 45 mins on the drive to see if i can spot anything - but leaks do not always manifest when not under load hence my suggestion below.
Simplest way to discover the leak is to get the car on a ramp and run a coolant pressure test - my local garage only charges a few quid and it has saved me twice - once the IMG and once the small hose to the turbo itself had worked loose.
