I have checked RAVE and the stepper motor is adjusted automatically by the ECM. There is no mention of this being done manually via T4. Erik's JLR dealer may have meant to tell him that it was the throttle position sensor whose closed position can be learnt by the ECM by depressing the throttle fully five times within ten seconds then switching off the ignition and waiting for twenty seconds. You might like to try this with your TF Roger.

Note that this applies only to the 1.8 engine (MEMS engine management). It is not specified for the KV6.
