All you can do Rod, is to be guided by what Pat wants and what the consultant has in mind for her. If you don't know this and if the consultant is not easily accessible, ask the ward staff for the oncology nurse specialist's phone number, so that you can ring her to arrange a meeting to discuss the treatment plan and ask any questions.
