They drive in KPH so it has had a speedo change, can the mileage be trusted if that has happened?

Japanese imports are often high spec but they are also badly rustproofed, a lot of there cars end up being scrapped at 7 years old due to there strict MOT so they are often less well rustproofed.

They were never driven, registered and according to stories left the port. The distributor went bump in Japan and Rover had the lot back.

Were sent back to the factory where the flare was removed and a couple of other alterations sorted, filler neck was different, the number plate fixing were different and assuming radio would have to have been sorted due to frequency differences etc.

They have a few differences, seatbelt warning light, drivers cup holder etc etc.

There were a load of MGF's that held the same fate, they can be spotted as they have A/C Leather and ''made in Japan'' headlights for some reason? Apparently A/C was not an option in the UK at the time.
