Oil in Coolant (Diesel MK2 Auto)
I looked at a 75 before I went away for a few days which will be good to save. That I might get when I get back.
It is a Mk2 tourer diesel Auto. When I looked at the car had been running awhile but the temp was not midway and no heat. When I removed the expansion cap the coolant was a dirty black colour and overflowing and definitely had oil (well bits) in there. Not being an expert on diesals I assume that it could be the oil cooler i.e this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-75-2...MAAOSwU-pXqg04. Any advice and if that is it easy to sort. It looks like it would take some cleaning out..... |

the temp gauge not going up to half way is probably due to a stuck thermostat. Inline thermostat mod should sort that. not sure about the oil in coolant issue though not come across that on a diesel before.

Sounds like a damaged oil cooler....
That item is an automatic gearbox trans fluid cooler and not an engine oil cooler as in your issue....
